What will the apprentice be doing?
The Commercial Apprenticeship is designed to be flexible to give a broad introduction to the business while encouraging academic development with day release to university to study towards the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship. The first two years of training concentrate on ensuring that the apprentice is familiar with all aspects of the business while the final two years of the apprenticeship focus their development on the designated area that the apprentice will make their career in.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Training in the individual departments can include: • HR; Absence, Training & Recruitment, Labour control, H&S, etc. • Sales; costing, quotation analysis, negotiation skills, etc. • Purchase; supplier management, negotiation skills, cost reduction, etc. • Finance; Purchase & Sales ledger, cost analysis, profit & loss, budget forecasts, asset control, etc. • Production Control; planning, forecasting, build plans, timing schedules, customer relations, etc. • Operations overview
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once qualified, many Apprentices receive sponsorship from the Company to study for degrees and other higher qualifications, which can enable them to develop their careers into a more senior role within the business. Many of the successful applicants that have joined the Company on the apprentice scheme have worked their way up through the ranks to some of the most senior positions within the Company and due to this apprentices are held in very high regard within the Company
