Leading aim: ‘Every learner shall achieve their maximum potential…  and enjoy the process’

Do you think you have the skills to help us ensure that lockdown has not made it impossible for some of our students to achieve our leading aim?

Dene Magna is a nationally acclaimed 11-18 Outstanding Teaching School situated in a beautiful part of the country enjoying easy links to surrounding towns and cities. Dene Magna is a successful, oversubscribed and high achieving Academy.

This is a unique role and one that we have developed in response to the challenges that COVID has thrown our way. We need you to play a vital role in supporting a group of our boys so that they can realise their potential and achieve great things in life. We are focusing on the boys because our non-teaching pastoral team has incredible female role models and our data suggests that our boys (and in particular those in receipt of Pupil Premium) are less likely to come out of lockdown and thrive.

You will be coaching the boys toward achieving personal and academic targets. Steering them in a successful and rewarding direction, helping them understand what masculinity really means and equipping them with a toolbox of strategies that will benefit them in school and in life.

The ultimate aim is that these students continue in education, achieve their targets and become role models for younger students.

In addition to the above, you will also set up and run holiday programmes and events (these should also include any girls that need extra support during these times).

Potential candidates for this role are warmly invited to visit the school or to contact the Headteacher for an informal conversation or tour of the school.

Further information including a job description and person specification is available from our website https://www.denemagna.co.uk/page/?title=Vacancies&pid=109.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and would expect all staff to share this commitment. The school is an Equal Opportunity school and encourages all staff and students to be treated similarly, unhampered by artificial barriers or prejudices or preferences.
