The Engineering Degree Apprenticeship offers a wide and exciting variety of opportunities in a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines. These varied disciplines will provide you with the opportunity to engage in a range of design and test activities, from detailed requirements and performance analysis, generation of test procedures and reviewing of evidence, to writing technical specifications and contributing to the ongoing development and qualification of vital submarine structures, systems and equipment.

During your Engineering Degree apprenticeship, you will be given visibility of a range of engineering disciplines in which a personal development plan will be created for your learning and development needs associated with your role. This includes bespoke technical training along with engineering placements around the business.

Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs grade A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) including maths, English and Science/technical subject
  • 240/96 UCAS points or equivalent (excluding UCAS points gained at AS level) to include maths plus one other STEM subject or an Extended BTEC National Diploma - DMM profile in an engineering or computer discipline (Merit or above) which must include the Level 3 mathematics for IT module

A great job after completion. Around 95% of our apprentices choose to stay with us and go on to have really successful careers. You can choose to go for promotion and progression or continue learning in the role you've moved into.

When you successfully complete your apprenticeship, we will help you to move into a suitable role, subject to the requirements of the business.

The process consists of five stages:
  • An online application
  • Online Testing
  • Video Interview
  • Application review
  • Qualification, Medical and security checks

The apprentice recruitment window opened on the 1 November 2020 and remains open until 28 February 2021.

Depending on fulfilment of the requirements, the process can take until July/August to complete and final offers are made.
