Software Engineers are predominantly involved in the discipline of Software Engineering, however you will also gain exposure to aspects of modelling and simulation, human factors and systems engineering all of which are an essential background for a fully rounded software engineer.

Software is an intrinsic component of the systems used to deliver in-service support. Following the in-service date, Software Engineering delivers support, optimises and upgrades the Support System infra-structure.

This four-year Aerospace Software Development Degree Apprenticeship provides the opportunity to work within our air business along with the opportunity to study for a Foundation Degree on a part time basis and the potential to continue on an Honours Degree programme, dependent on individual performance and business needs.

At the end of the scheme you will have had a good mix of academic and work-based learning experiences to ensure you develop the skills that will support you and the business in the future.

  • 96 UCAS Tariff points (240 old UCAS Points) including 2 STEM subjectsand5 GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C) including maths, English and 2 Science subjects or equivalent

When you successfully complete your apprenticeship, we will help you to move into a suitable role, subject to the requirements of the business.

The process consists of five stages:
  • An online application
  • Online Testing
  • Video Interview
  • Application review
  • Qualification, Medical and security checks

The apprentice recruitment window opened on the 1 November 2020 and remains open until 28 February 2021.

Depending on fulfilment of the requirements, the process can take until July/August to complete and final offers are made.
