During the first three years of the nuclear scheme, you will have the opportunity to undertake varied and interesting placements in Reactor Operations, Nuclear Engineering, Test & Commissioning and Nuclear Safety and Regulation.

In the final two years of your scheme, you will be working full-time in one these relevant nuclear placements as a Nuclear Engineer.

Desired qualifications

  • FiveGCSEs grade A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) including maths, English and Science/technical subject
  • 240/96 UCAS points or equivalent (excluding UCAS points gained at AS level) to include maths plus one other STEM subject (excluding General Studies)

A great job after completion. Around 95% of our apprentices choose to stay with us and go on to have really successful careers. You can choose to go for promotion and progression or continue learning in the role you've moved into.

When you successfully complete your apprenticeship, we will help you to move into a suitable role, subject to the requirements of the business.

The process consists of five stages:
  • An online application
  • Online Testing
  • Video Interview
  • Application review
  • Qualification, Medical and security checks

The apprentice recruitment window opened on the 1 November 2020 and remains open until 28 February 2021.

Depending on fulfilment of the requirements, the process can take until July/August to complete and final offers are made.
