Are you enthusiastic about helping young people with mental health problems? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop and share your skills and knowledge in mental health? Would you like to be part of a forward thinking, supportive and developing service? We are looking for an experienced qualified practitioner who is able to work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team.

We are a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Child Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists and Mental Health Practitioners from a range of professional backgrounds. Within our core team we have a nurse led ADHD service, a busy Social and Communication Assessment and Intervention Team, a Family Therapy clinic and Parent Child Game clinic. We see children and young people up to the age of18 with a range of mental health difficulties and are committed to providing high quality evidence based interventions.

This service is provided from Pendleton Gateway Salford.

You must have significant and demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable people and families, who present with complex mental health needs and often risk.

You must have a current working knowledge of CAMHS and experience of working within a CAMHS environment and have an understanding of assessing complex mental health needs and levels of risk, including safeguarding and self-harm. You will manage your own caseload, providing a range of high quality care appropriate to the child or young person's needs which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment and management, family and social assessment, consultation and interventions. You must have a demonstrable range of skills and knowledge base to deliver clinical aspects of the role and be competent to do this work as an autonomous practitioner within professional practice guidelines and a structured supervision framework.

You must be confident and experienced in communication, due to the high level of liaison needed between CAMHS and other services and be willing to work flexible hours in accordance with the needs of the young people. This post is a clinical post and the expectation of time management is that the majority of time will be spent in face to face clinical practice.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across Salford and Manchester and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
