This is an excellent opportunity to join the safeguarding team within the Trust - We are seeking a Band 7 Safeguarding Children's Nurse/ Lead trainer for Safeguarding Children.

The post holder will be a fundamental part of the safeguarding team and work closely with the Trust leads to ensure that the safeguarding of children remains at the heart of practice. Working with teams across the organisation you will be responsible for providing knowledge and expertise in all aspects of safeguarding children in the acute and community setting.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring effective planning, co-ordination, delivery & evaluation of safeguarding children training for the Trust. The post holder will be responsible for leading on the implementation of training projects, taking a forefront role in the analysis of training needs and the design and formulation of training plans, evaluations and evidence based outcomes .

The role will also provide clinical support and guidance to staff within the hospital and community setting: this will include supporting staff in formulating appropriate, quality referrals to social care; case management and supervision, and actively participate on the on-call child protection medical rota.

The successful applicant will have a relevant paediatric qualification, and relevant knowledge and experience of child protection work from the health perspective. Operational experience of managing safeguarding cases from an acute and community perspective is a necessity.

The post holder will be required to demonstrate an enquiring mind, critical thinking and analytical skills to enhance decision making in relation to the protection of vulnerable children. You will be required to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to work effectively and respond appropriately in challenging circumstances.
