How the project works and what it entails to be a Project Engineer working in a real-life environment.
How to support all the different delivery functions independently:
Project Management
Technical Design
Programme Planning
Pre-Build & Testing
Installation, Commissioning and site handover
The documentation behind a site install and how to produce and manage it
How to communicate with all the relevant project stakeholders to ensure things stay on track
To gain an understanding of the 1500 series standard and from this assist project engineers to provide technical support
Learn how to monitor and report on contract compliance
To be an integral part of a team
How to own problems and take the responsibility of solving them
Be proactive in supporting telent and recognising when colleagues need help

The Specifics

The apprenticeship is 2 years long
On completion of the course you will have a Level 4 qualification as an Associate Project Manager
You will be mentored by colleagues, supervisors and managers throughout the scheme
One completion of the scheme you will be a fully qualified telent project engineer and can have the opportunity to take on a role within the working team full time
The apprenticeship is a managed scheme with a mix between apprenticeship course work, on site working and vendor exams (block release)

The Detail

You will accompany working project engineers and learn what it takes to become a project engineer. As you learn and develop you will take on active responsibilities within the project to assist with delivering to our customer Highways England.

You will attend regular meetings, attend site visits and learn the ropes from talented and skilled project engineers focussed on your development.

Still Interested? What will you need?

To qualify to join telent as an apprentice you must:

Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 9 - 4 (A*-C) specifically in Maths, English and Science or an IT related subject
You must have a minimum of Grade 5 in Maths (Grade C or equivalent)
Have a full UK driving licence and 12 months experience of driving by September 2021
Be 18 years of age from September 2021
Be able to pass police level Security Clearance

Basic knowledge of windows operating systems

Experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders

Be able to undertake physically demanding work and possess normal colour vision and hearing
Adhere to telent's strict policy on drugs & alcohol
Be an effective communicator both written and verbal
Have a positive, can-do attitude
Be able to work as part of a team
Be keen to work outdoors in all kinds of environments
