- Attending daily stand up to sync up with the team and make sure we are doing the most impactful work
- Learning and contributing to the team's processes and standards
- Participate and help decide what the team should focus on during agile planning meetings
- Integrating with many banking partners and internal systems using all kind of communication channels: SFTP, REST APIs, messages (Kafka), gRPC
- Monitoring operational issues and improving alerts & dashboards
- Communicating with other teams the features that you develop
- Keeping Operations, product and partners updated
- Keeping the services that we own to a high standard: updating libraries, frameworks and following the company latest recommendations
- Learning from best practices communicated to the whole engineering team and driving them within our team
- Learning about different countries payment systems and local payment methods; using what you have learned to drive the best solutions
- Taking responsibility for owning your changes all the way through to prove that they work well - and continue to work well - in production, with the help of more experienced team members

- Communication - you have to be willing to practice and learn in the job. We will guide you and you will see plenty of good examples in the team
Personal qualities
- Be willing to keep other teams and profiles aware of your changes and keep them up to date on the tasks that you are owning
- If you can speak some Spanish or Portuguese (or are looking to learn) you will have plenty of opportunities to do so. But don't worry, this is not essential
Desired qualifications
- Five GCSE grades A*-C (9-4) or equivalent, including English and maths
- Level 3 qualification (A level, BTEC or equivalent)
- Three months' prior coding experience
Future prospects
- After your Software Engineering apprenticeship, you can progress into a junior developer role (this includes web and app development)
- You'll have the skills to continue growing within a tech team, and have enough knowledge/experience to pick up new languages with ease. Software Engineering Level 4 will also provide a good foundation for transitioning into data science
