Administration Apprentice – Outpatient Booking
South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated apprentice within the Booking Services Team based at Warwick Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop administrative, customer service skills and gain experience within a busy environment whilst studying for a nationally recognised qualification.
Your role will be to work within the Outpatient Booking team to help across a variety of specialty booking services. As a key member of the team you will deliver an effective and efficient service to support the administration processes to a designated booking team. You will be part of a friendly, professional team in a fast paced busy environment and key duties will include dealing with daily emails, maintaining accurate records, answering and dealing with telephone and face to face queries, attending regular meetings and general administrative duties.
You will gain experience in all relevant aspects of outpatient booking to enable career progression to a booking co-ordinator role for the right candidate. This will be through on the job training, regular meetings with a supervisor and assessor and attending college/training sessions leading to an Apprenticeship Certificate Level 2 in Business Administration or Customer Service.
As this is an apprentice post the post holder may be required to work in various locations throughout the organisation to develop skills knowledge and experience in all aspects of outpatient booking.
Successful candidates must have both written and verbal communication skills and have a good telephone manner. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a busy environment, work under your own initiative with good organisational and time management skills and be able to manage your own workload flexibly to meet the demands of the service. Basic IT skills are essential. Training will be given on the Hospital Systems used.
We will be looking for a willingness to learn, a can do attitude and you will need to be able to demonstrate that you are committed to completing an apprenticeship.

On completion of your apprenticeship you will receive an Intermediate Level 2 in Customer Service or Business Admin which is equivalent to 5 GCSE’s. This will also provide you with the skills for your chosen career root and will allow entry level to move onto an ‘Advanced Level’ apprenticeship should your wish to do so.
