Initial role with involve:
  • Preparation of personal tax returns for your own dedicated client list
  • Corresponding with clients regarding their queries or gathering information for their tax returns
  • Assistance with employment taxes, including payroll and P11Ds
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Gathering information and drafting initial responses to HMRC with respect to enquiries
  • Research of specific tax areas and assistance with the preparation of tax advice
  • Attendance at client meetings in support of manager or directors

From day one we will expect you to start to build relationships with the clients on your allocation. Personal attentive service is at the heart of our firm and the reason for our continued success. We are a unique practice within the West Midlands as we attend to the affairs of many high profile individuals in the international entertainment industry, and provide niche specialist advice in that sector. This provides amazing opportunities for the right person to develop specialist skills and experience - an opportunity that would not exist in most accountancy & tax advisory practices.

Please note - there are 3 positions available and one of the positions requires the successful candidate to travel to London regularly to attend client meetings or meet the Director.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated and able to plan and prioritise their workload

  • Capable of dealing with detail and precision


Personal qualities

  • We are looking for ambitious and hardworking graduates who wish to pursue a career in tax

Desired qualifications

  • Degree - 2:1 or higher.
  • A Levels or equivalents at grades A-C.

Please note - A Level candidates will be considered if you have excellent grades in relevant subjects.

Benefits include Parking permit provided for nearby public car park, Employer pension of 5% of salary (subject to 4% employee contribution being made) and 21 days annual leave per annum, plus 8 statutory holidays.
