What will the apprentice be doing?
You will be shadowing the Site Engineer, including:
- Assisting with setting out, levelling, and surveying a construction site
- Working with site plans, drawings and building information models
- Monitoring quality control and health & safety, keeping a site diary
- Assisting to resolve technical problems
- Maintaining good relationships with the client and their representatives
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The Standard title is Level 4 Construction Site Engineering Technician where we will be looking to partner with Skills4Stem to provide the training.
This training will mainly be through remote learning with a paid study day as needed. You will have to attend semi-regular campus assessments and are expected to travel when necessary. You will also have possible assessment visits done on site as needed. Both you will be responsible to managing/arranging with your line manager.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Typical job titles can include: Construction Site Technician, Site Engineer, and Civil Engineer. In the case of SME construction companies the roles are likely to include Site Engineer, Civil Engineer or Project Engineer.
At the end of this apprenticeship you would be capable of working as a qualified Assistant Construction Site Engineer with the option to progress into a degree qualification and/or progress into a lead or senior position.
