As an apprentice, yourtwo-yeardevelopmentprogramme willbe made up ofsixplacement rotationswhich willdevelop your understanding of the different aspects that make up Finance as a business function. Alongside this, you'll be studying for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Certificate in Business Accounting qualification through the Level 4 Accountancy Taxation Professional apprenticeship.

Here's an idea of what youcould get involved with:

Record to Account:

Providing yourcustomers with forecasting support, whilemaintaining the accuracy ofour financial data. You'llbereviewing andpreparingjournal entries,accountreconciliations and validations.

Order to Cash:

You could be providingaccess to purchasing services or goods. You might alsoassist with apportioningfare revenue to internal and external business units,orwithidentifyingrevenue leaks.

Accounts Payable:

In supporting theAccounts Payableteam,you would beresponsible for the timely and accurate processing ofoursupplier invoices, and the prompt resolution of any queriesto ensure thatallpayments aremade on time.

Master Data:

Master Dataunderpinsmany of our financial systems and services. You willensure that fundamental data are correct, keptaccurately,shown consistentlyand shared with the right peopleat the right time.

Reporting:

Supportingkeyfinancial decisionsby providing real-time, standardised reportsto your internal customers.

Business Partnering:

Test your skills bysupportingbusiness areas to make commercial and investment decisions which affect the future of London.You could work in major delivery unitssuch asLondon Underground, Major Projects or Commercial Development.

Personal qualities

We're looking for potential in all of our apprentices. We are looking for somebody who can demonstrate our behaviours which are Active, Accountable, Direct, Fair and Consistent and Collaborative.

Desired qualifications

A minimum of 5 GCSE's Grade A* - C or Grade 4 and above including maths and English language (or equivalents) plus 2 A-Levels in any subject at grade A* - D or equivalent.

You are not eligible for this scheme if you currently hold or are working towards a qualification at the same or higher level in a related subject or have already studied content from the qualification for this scheme.

Future prospects

Upon successful completion of this scheme,andas a part qualified chartered accountant, you will have the skills to undertake acritical role in our Business Support Function.Youcould also further expand yourcareer opportunities byundertaking a Level 7 apprenticeship, studying the full CIMA qualification to reach Chartered Management Accountant status.

Things to consider

You must be18 years of age by 6th September 2021 or over to be eligible for this scheme due to Health and Safety requirements.
