This would make you the perfect fit in the Project Controls team, where you will be involved in supporting projects spanning substation developments, overhead lines, tunnelling and cables, gas transmission, and security upgrades to protect our critical national infrastructure.

A great opportunity to gain a broad overview of Capital Delivery and the wider business. Did you also say you could juggle? Great, let's get you accomplishing your primary goals in developing your project management skills so you can determine project objectives, cost engineering, establishing schedules, and ultimately coordinating projects, because that's what it's all about, right?

Desired qualifications

You will need to have a GCSE in English Language AND in Maths at Grade 4/Cor above (or equivalent) with one of the following:
  • 2 A levels / A2: Grades A* - C (1 must be in either Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Computing)
  • BTEC National Certificate OR Diploma Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Computing or Business Skills at Grade Merit or Distinction
  • HNC/HND in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Computing at Grade Pass, Merit or Distinction
  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing, Maths, or Business Management

Future prospects

You'll be working towards a level 4 Associate Project Manager qualification whilst also gaining relevant experience to enable you to start your career at National Grid.
