What will the apprentice be doing?
Significant amount of days release to college with the remainder of the time spent on site working within the engineering functions of RBSL. When in the business the apprentice will spend time in various areas of the Engineering function to gain knowledge and understanding of how each of these area support the RBSL business. These placements will vary in length from 3 - 6 months, and will build upon the academic knowledge gained from the time at college.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Day releases to the City of Wolverhampton College where the apprentice will be studying for an Engineering Manufacturing Technician Level 4 qualification (Standard Ref: ST0841). When in the business the apprentice will spend time in various areas of the engineering function, to build upon the knowledge and understanding gained whilst studying at college.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion of the four year apprenticeship it is planned that the apprentice will exit into a role within the RBSL Engineering Team although the specific area within Engineering is planned to be defined within the final six months of the apprenticeship.
