As a member of the Global Manufacturing Engineering & Technology (GMET) team primarily based in Peterborough near Cambridge, you will be working as part of a highly focused and driven team of Engineers, Technologists and Analysts. The projects and activities you will be involved with concern new "growth" areas such as new product introduction, value-adding manufacturing solutions, production and efficiency optimisation, waste reduction, and product qualification.

You'll become knowledgeable about our developing technologies, the quality systems that surround our manufacturing processes and learn to work with people at all levels of the organisation and across our global manufacturing facilities.

With technology driving more Automation, Product Innovation, Business Intelligence, Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) and Data Analytics, there's plenty to get involved with in the GMET group.

Data science combines maths and statistics skills with programming skills - to analyse data with the aim of providing insights that inform business decisions and improvements. In your role as a Graduate Apprentice Data Science Analyst in the GMET team.

Your duties might include:
  • Working across a variety of projects, analysing data and making suggestions that inform business decisions and improvements
  • Developing a good understanding of data structures and database systems
  • Learning about and using a range of analytical tools
  • Collecting, cleansing, abstracting and aggregating data
  • Conducting a range of analytical studies on data
  • Creating visualisations of data using tools like PowerBI and Tableau
  • Working on machine learning projects and developing your technical skills

Desired qualifications

To join us on a Level 6 (Degree) Apprenticeship (England) you should:
  • Have five GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at A*-C or 9-4 grade (or equivalent), including English and maths
  • Have, or be on track for, at least three A-Levels at grades B, C, C or above (England) OR four Highers at grades B, B, B, C or above (Scotland) or a Level 3 equivalent. If one of these subjects is in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) subject that's great, but it is not a requirement!
