Babcock is looking for exceptional apprentices to train across various apprenticeships at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth.
Our Higher-Level engineering apprenticeship schemes take 4 years to complete. During this time, you will earn a competitive apprentice wage and gain hands-on technical experience in the workplace. As part of the structured training programme you will complete knowledge and understanding logs whilst being provided with continual support.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate clear potential to continuously grow and develop their skills, and who can match this with the drive and dedication needed to become a success in the beginning stages of their career. We want to meet with people who can demonstrate a strong aptitude for and interest in technical-based subject matter.
Other specific areas of competency we require you to demonstrate are as follows:
Desired qualifications
Three GCSEs* C/4 or above, including maths, English and a Science.
Two A-levels C or above, one of which must have a maths content, or BTEC extended
diploma in Engineering (distinction preferred).

- Planning and supervising the construction of vessels
- Negotiating and agreeing project budgets, timescales and specifications with clients

- Qualified to the standard specified above depending on your chosen apprenticeship
