The Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is urgently recruiting for a band 5 Mental Health Practitoner to provide support to Intermediate Care Home Service. The post-holder will be required to assist with home assessments for virtual doctor clinics and therefore must be a car driver and experienced in community work. The service requires applicants to have demonstrable experience in venepuncture, observations e.g blood pressure and a positive and willing attitude.

Location:The post-holder will be a member of the Intermediate Care Home Team and will be working within Wokingham, West Berkshire and Reading.

Shifts/Hours:Service operational hours are 8-8pm. Shifts are either 8-4pm, 12-8pm or 8-8pm and includes weekend working.

Band 5 - example rate:
  • Day Rate - £15.66 per hour
  • Night/Sat Rate - £20.35 per hour
  • Sun/Bank Holiday Rate - £25.05 per hour


Must have:
  • Own vehicle
  • Be able to travel between sites/care homes
  • Appropriate knowledge of donning and doffing PPE as working with Covid-19 patients
  • Be able to undertake observations of vital signs, e.g. blood pressure, pulse, temperature, pulse oximetry
  • Be able to undertake venepuncture
  • A positive and willing attitude
