An exciting opportunity has arisen through Macmillan to manage a new Cancer Care Review project. The aim of the project is to aid GPs to reintroduce, enhance the quality of and to support the increase in number of Cancer Care Reviews completed as a normal part of general practice following the impact of the COVID pandemic and to bring about an enhanced model of cancer care within the community, focusing on social and psychological, as well as physical needs.

The project manager (PM) will lead, deliver and manage the Macmillan Community & Care Coordinators (C&CC) project to time, cost and quality criteria as agreed between key stakeholders

We are looking for someone with excellent project management and communication skills, who has a proven record of working in a collaborative way across a range of key stakeholders and has the ability to motivate others to drive forward and make a difference to people's lives with cancer.

The PM will ensure the facilitation of collaborative working and effective project management to stimulate and achieve cultural, behavioural and contractual change to deliver the project. The role will ensure that appropriate governance structures and procedures are in place and adopted by project stakeholders to include: development of a detailed project plan, management of risks and dependencies, development and use of project reporting frameworks, change management and learning. It will be the responsibility of the role to scope and plan the required work streams and to ensure that a standardized project management approach is built into all aspects of the service.

The PM will manage the Macmillan Community & Care Coordinators engaging in their recruitment, supporting their induction, training and ongoing development and will facilitate regular learning events to ensure learning and regular improvement and review of systems and processes.
