The Older People Mental Health Team, based at The Chadwell Centre, is a multi-disciplinary community team, which works across the bay to provide assessments and services to older people experiencing mental health problems

An opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker on fixed term contract, to cover maternity leave of current post holder. A secondment can be considered for this position.

If you aspire to develop your skills within an Older Persons Mental social work team and contribute to innovative and creative practice within a multi-disciplinary setting, then this could be a significant opportunity for you to develop your skills and experience in the field of mental health.

The successful applicant will be an experienced practitioner with a recognised social work qualification, Social Work England registered. You will have the ability to work in a strength-based approach, as part of this specialist social care team. Being co- located with our health colleagues we offer a unique, multi-disciplinary service, to service users who experience mental health difficulties, their families and carers.

You should have in-depth knowledge of The Care Act 2014, eligibility criteria and adult social care "best practice". An excellent knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and its implication for own and social care staff practice and knowledge of the Mental Health Act and its implications for service users and carers
