This is an apprenticeship where the successful candidate will assist a Wealth Manager at Ascot Wealth Managementwhilst also studying towards the CII Paraplanner qualificationwith online training and support delivered by Skills Edge. Skills Edge work as an approved training provider for the CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) Aspire Apprenticeships programme. Although this is an apprenticeship, the importance of the role does require candidates to have experience and knowledge within the Financial Services sector or have the interest in the Industry and transferable skills to apply to this role. The suitable candidate will have the desire to developa career as a Paraplanner and the ability to work towards the CII Certificate in Paraplanning.

The chosen candidate will be working closely with an experienced Wealth Manager and their team, handling the day-to-day paraplanning duties, meeting deadlines and ensuring the smooth running of their meetings. They will provide administrative support including liaising with providers, clients and other relevant third parties. Excellent attention to detail, good communication skills and a strong work ethic are essential.

Duties will include:
  • Managing the Planning Workflow
  • Communicating with selected clients (face to face or remote) and proactively liaising with product providers and other relevant third parties to request documentation and provide progress reports
  • Discussing cases and implementing requests from Advisers
  • Undertaking financial planning and product-based research
  • Carrying out financial analysis and draft recommendation reports/letters for review and sign off by the advisers
  • Managing the production of accurate suitability reports and meeting packs for the team
  • Preparing all relevant paperwork for client meetings and adhering to planning and meeting deadlines
  • Ensuring that all compliance and regulatory standards are met and any breach reported to the Compliance Manager
  • Ensuring that all client requirements are followed through to the appropriate conclusion. Maintaining client information accurately
  • Working with and adhering to company and FCA policies and procedures; keeping up to date with legislation and maintain an understanding of FCA regulations and guidelines
  • Developing and maintaining all Paraplanning processes
  • Undertaking appropriate professional development
  • Managing diaries / organising meeting and appointments and dealing with correspondence and phone calls
  • Producing appropriate written correspondence to providers and clients

  • Experience, knowledge or interest in the Financial Services sector
  • Ability to use back office CRM, time and task management systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good understanding of compliance issues
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to conduct research for appropriate providers and investments
  • Excellent organisation and task prioritisation
  • Ability to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Able to take direction and complete tasks independently
  • Excellent computer skills; experience with email, Word and Excel Mandatory

  • Non solicitation of other employees: Not to solicit the recruitment of staff from AWM or any associated company within a minimum of two years from their own termination of employment with the firm
