Applications are invited for a part time (6 programmed activities) Consultant in Rheumatology to join a team of 5 existing Rheumatologists .

Our aim is to provide great Consultant-led care for our patients both as in-patients and in our clinics. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high quality outpatient Rheumatology care, by providing 3 outpatient clinics per week.

The Rheumatology Department provides the whole range of diagnostic and therapeutic services to the local population through our outpatient clinics at Epsom Hospital, Jubilee Health Centre and St Helier Hospital. There is an existing Day Case unit providing biological treatments and the team includes 4 Specialist Nurses, 1 Specialist Registrar in general medicine and rheumatology.

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual who will provide great care and develop our services. There is also considerable opportunity to participate and lead in undergraduate and postgraduate education and training, and opportunity to develop subspecialist pathways, as per candidates interest. Appended is an example of a full time job plan, subject to discussion with the successful candidate.

You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0-18 years) and therefore, this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
