What will the apprentice be doing?
As a civil engineering apprentice in our Local Government, Highways team, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills using specialist software suited to the are of the business you are working in. You may be involved with taking concepts and ideas from architects or engineers and creating software drawings and designs. Where practical, you'll get the opportunity to visit site and see the projects you're working on, coming to life.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will attend London South Bank University to study a Civil Engineering degree apprenticeship and gain a BEng, as well as your Incorporated Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will also be enrolled onto a bespoke internal development programme to support you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviour that will help you successfully achieve your apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
As this is a permanent position, after gaining your degree, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to gain Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, as well as the chance to study towards a Masters degree.

BTEC or equivalent Ext L3 Civil Engineering including further maths (Grade DDM or above) Desired
