We are looking for a Data Scientist Apprentice in our Annesley site (NG15 0DR).

The position holder will join the Business Intelligence team to support the business to utilise data effectively to provide high quality insights, solve problems and improve processes.

The Business Intelligence team require advanced data analytics support to deliver a broad spectrum of customer and financial reporting requirements, financial planning and scenario modelling, process automation, systems support and digital technology transformation.

Over the 2-year contract, the position holder will undertake a Level 7 Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist Degree Apprenticeship (MSc Data Analytics) with Nottingham Trent University.

The position will offer a salary of up to £30K (depending on experience) and an opportunity to work remotely up to 4 days per week (subject to business requirements).

Key responsibilities:

Data Models & Visualisation:
  • Building and maintaining effective data models and visualisations to solve problems and provide insights

Projects:
  • Managing and supporting projects to gather and utilise data to drive business decisions and automate processes

Predictive Modelling:
  • Applying advanced statistical and programming techniques (e.g. Python/R) to develop predictive models

Alteryx Super User:
  • Acting as an Alteryx super-user, championing its use and monitoring governance and compliance

Systems & Digital Transformation:
  • Supporting finance digital technology solutions strategy and roll-out


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Previous work experience and evidence of practical application of studies/theory (e.g. through projects delivered in workplace) is desirable
  • Good data analysis skills
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of statistics and programming


Personal qualities

  • Proactive and flexible approach


Desired qualifications

Undergraduate degree in data analytics or STEM subject (min 2:2).

Future prospects

Potential permanent role within the Business Intelligence Team.
