What will the apprentice be doing?
The Nursing Associate is a registered practitioner role that confers eligibility as a statutorily regulated profession onto the Nursing and Midwifery Council register. The broad purpose of this occupation is to provide care for people of all ages and from different backgrounds, cultures and beliefs. Nursing associates may provide care for a range of people who have mental, physical, cognitive and behavioural care needs.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
This apprenticeship allows you to combine protected learning opportunities in the workplace with a university learning environment, whilst studying for a foundation degree. Training is delivered via blended learning methods using a block release delivery pattern. The remainder of the learning time is spent in clinical practice and on clinical placements to ensure that you gain a wider base of relevant clinical experience.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Successful completion of this apprenticeship leads to registration as an Associate Nurse on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register.
