Stores Operative

The procurement function at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is very well respected at Board level and throughout the organisation. It is regarded as being exceptionally well led with a high performing team always looking for new and innovative ways of improving the service provided. The Logistics function is a key part of this team. The Procurement - supplies department have been absolutely pivot in the Trust's response to the pandemic, recently being selected to receive the excellence award for patient care.

A vacancy within the Warrington Hospital team has developed. The Supplies Operative role will be to undertake a broad variety of storekeeping duties to ensure that goods are received and distributed throughout the organisation ensuring timely provision of clinical and non-clinical supplies for the treatment of patient thereby supporting patient safety and wellbeing.

The successful applicant will be able to study the Supply Chain Warehouse Operative at level 2 on an apprenticeship pathway' and will be given training time to complete this.

We are looking for someone who ideally has experience of working as a Store person or Warehouse Operative but this is not preclusive. The ideal person will have excellent administration and organisation skills and has the ability to maintain organisation throughout the day. The Trust's wards and departments rely on having the equipment and materials it needs in the right place, on time.

This is a genuine opportunity for the right person to forge a career in logistics and make a significant contribution to the care of patients. The post holder will be interchangeable with the other Stores Operatives and there will be a requirement for these posts to cover each other during times of annual leave / sickness or during periods of training.

You will have a good standard of general educational including maths and English and demonstrable knowledge of Procurement, Customer Care and Supply Chain Management.

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months' salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.
