An opportunity has arisen in the Health Records and Outpatient Reception Department for a 1x36 hour apprentice. The post has a comprehensive training programme involving rotating between Health Records and the Outpatient Reception Departments allowing the successful candidate to get excellent training in a variety of administration positions.

What this Opportunity means:
  • The apprenticeship is a work-based training programme where you will be able to develop your skills, including English and Maths, and to gain a nationally recognised qualification NVQ in Customer Service.
  • The successful post holder will provide support to an efficient and confidential clerical team with duties including digitalizing records, preparing casenotes and receptioning patients.
  • A portion of the post holder's day will include walking to and from different departments within the hospital for such tasks as to obtain and deliver case notes and clinic trolleys etc.
  • You will attend a 1-day Corporate Induction introducing you to our Trust & ensure you settle in

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large district General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital. The Trust has almost 4,000 staff and provides a range of medical services to more than 445,000 patients per year from areas covering Western Cheshire, Ellesmere Port, Neston and North Wales.

If subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975, then a disclosure submission will be made to the Disclosure & Barring service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. The cost of the DBS application is £28 (standard) or £45 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.

The Trust will not fund applications for Work Permits and Further Leave to Remain. Those requiring Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome & will be considered alongside all other applicants. However non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available, as the Trust is unlikely in this circumstance to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test.
