Business Administration Apprenticeship
A career that will deliver change. Together, we can help Britain achieve net zero.
During your apprenticeship you’ll be looking to make an impact – using your skills, knowledge and passion to achieve great things. So how about taking on the challenge of beating climate change?
Being Britain’s biggest generator of low carbon electricity, EDF are not only talking about climate change, we’re doing something about it. We’re committed to reducing carbon emissions to zero, generating power from clean sources like wind, nuclear and solar, leading the charge for electric vehicles and investing in new carbon cutting technologies.
We proudly work together to champion a low carbon lifestyle and collaborate widely in our search for innovations to achieve more. Build your future with us. Together we’ll help Britain achieve net zero.
Our Business Administration Apprenticeship is based within the Nuclear team. It offers the opportunity to gain a recognised Business Administration qualification whilst earning a salary and being part of one of the most exciting projects at EDF: the construction of Hinkley Point C (HPC) power station in Somerset.
During this two-year apprenticeship you’ll spend time in different departments of the HPC project, undertaking a variety of roles that will help you develop a wide range of Business administration skills that are key to all areas of business.
The Training Programme:
During the training programme your time will be split between studying at college and learning on the job in our business.
Within our business you’ll spend time working with the Business Performance & Digital Hub team in our Aztec West office (Bristol) and the Pre-Operations team (near Bridgwater). You’ll also attend day release training at the City of Bristol College to gain a level 3 Business Administration Advanced qualification.
The Business Performance & Digital Hub is responsible for maintaining the IT systems that enable HPC to operate day to day. The Pre-Operations team is responsible for developing all areas required to operate a nuclear power station for the 60 years planned lifetime of the station. Your placements in these areas will offer the chance to perform a variety of tasks that will positively contribute to your own personal development, knowledge and experience in Business Administration.
You’ll have plenty of support along the way too – from your Tutors at Bristol College, to your EDF Career Manager and our Early Careers team; as well as face-to-face support at our on-site Apprentice Hub and digital access to relevant information, learning and care.
Gaining a recognised qualification and business experience will open the door to a range of opportunities within EDF. You may continue on the business administration route, start a journey to become an engineer or even look to progress up the ladder and develop towards becoming a team leader in one of the station teams.
