Overview

The Degree Apprenticeship programme presents an exciting career opportunity to become a fundamental part in developing our operational division. You’ll be working with the Operations team, other business units and wider Hermes Team members to help ensure the business is best placed to develop new products and commercial relationships with new and existing clients. This provides us with an exciting opportunity to develop new talent, with the skills, knowledge, behaviors and practical experience of a seasoned Hermes professional!

As a Chartered Manager Degree Apprentice, you will be working in our operational division, delivering operational excellence to Hermes hubs and depots across the UK. You will complete a minimum of three work placements within the operation, whilst also studying towards your degree. Throughout the programme you will be working on a variety of projects that align to current and future business needs and your study and development will also be structured towards achieving Chartered Manager status, with the Chartered Manager Institute, on completion of your Apprenticeship.

 

Responsibilities

You will be on a fixed term contract and expected to pass your qualification within the time frame. Recognise routine tasks as learning opportunities and seek ways to improve these.
Work well within a team and sensitive to diversity.
Quick to learn and able to apply that learning with the support of mentors.
Passion and motivation to start and develop a career within the Supply Chain & Logistics industry in the UK market post-academia.
Flexible in approach to working styles, shifts and roles Confident communicator – able to tailor communication style according to the audience.
Enthusiastic and open-minded in getting the most out of the apprenticeship Good time management, organisation and prioritisation skills Able to work on standard items alone once trained.

Qualifications

5 GSCEs A* - D
2 A-Levels (or equivalent) of A* - C

Preferably the ability to drive
Be comfortable with moving around various locations in the UK for periods of time
Able to demonstrate both a commercially focused and client focused operating style.
Able to apply leadership qualities with excellent influencing and interpersonal skills.
Ability to take ownership of results.
Be a ‘Forward thinking’ learner, in order to help the business succeed.
