We are currently recruiting for a Packaging Apprentice to join our friendly team at Market Drayton, Shropshire. We are looking for someone to become a key member of the UK based packaging team, you will develop your knowledge of packaging materials, processes and tools to support delivery of packaging projects for the UK business units. In either role you will be expected to keep informed of current packaging topics, legislation and compliance in order to support best commercial and ethical practice.

As Packaging Apprentice, you will be supported with an Apprenticeship programme to achieve a BSc Degree in Packaging Technology. This will be delivered by a highly regarded university in partnership with M??ller.

• The apprenticeship programme lasts for a total of 4 years.
• You will split your time between a series of 2-3-day workshops at the university campus throughout each year, and practical learning with M??ller.
• The programme will cover key topics within the Packaging sector, such as:
??? The requirements of packaging, looking at environmental considerations and legislation
??? Materials science
??? Machinery technologies, considering types of filling and packaging performance
??? Conversion technologies, and how a raw material becomes end packaging
??? Budgetary control and cost analysis
??? Principles of marketing related to packaging
??? Continuous Improvement in relation to packaging
??? Printing and decorative technologies, and artwork/graphics
??? Innovation in packaging
??? Project Management, incorporating supplier management
??? ??? and many more!

As Packaging Apprentice, you will join the team for between 6 and 12 months where you will become key members of the UK packaging team. You will be supported and mentored to understand the key topics highlighted above and given the opportunity to develop your skill set.

Key skills & experience:
• GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• A level in packaging, science or engineering related qualification is most desirable but not essential.
• Has a keen interest in material science and product development wanting to understand more about the FMCG manufacturing process.
• Would like to understand more about the end to end project management.
• Demonstrates a keen attitude to learn and has basic understanding of packaging materials used in FMCG.
• Microsoft Office Suite literate
