Job Details

Priors Court Graduate Programme is an 18-month programme designed to be a structured yet flexible pathway to a rewarding career, in care.

With two decades of autism expertise we will offer you an excellent standard of training and development to support your career development and enhance your skills, knowledge and experience in autism.

Prior's Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality with the opening of Prior's Court School in 1999. We have since grown to support around 90 young people with autism aged between 5-25 years with the opening of Prior's Court Young Adult Provision in 2011.

Since opening, our support team has grown from around 20 to 600 and we have built a reputation as a leading edge educational, vocational, and residential facility for young people with autism. Working with our young people can be challenging but extremely rewarding. Hear from our staff who are passionate about the difference they make.

Job Description

During the 18-month programme you will complete up to four placements across the organisation.

This will give you the insight into the specialised approach we use to support our young people with autism. It will equip you with the knowledge and experience required, to better understand and contribute to the excellent work we do to support our amazing young people.

Every day will be different, and no matter which department you work within, you will be having a positive impact and changing lives.

In addition to four placements across the organisation candidates are expected to propose, organise, and execute a project which enhances the lives of the YP at Priors Court, OR conduct extensive research piece as part of Prior’s Court Research Board.

On completion of the programme we believe you will be ready to secure a permanent post in the Priors Court family.

All positions at the school are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and references. Prior’s Court Foundation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Prior's Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality when Prior's Court opened in 1999. In the two decades since, we have supported more than 200 people with complex autism aged between 5-25 years and we now have a staff team of over 600 people.

Our Graduate Programme was launched in 2019 to offer a structured, yet flexible pathway into a career. We believe graduates bring unique skills, knowledge and experiences to enhance what we offer our young people. The programme is suitable for graduates with a degree in any discipline and a passion to change lives.

Successful applicants will experience a number of roles in different departments within our charity-run organisation over an 18-month programme, developing the skills and experience needed for a rewarding career in the care sector.
