Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship

Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital has a reputation as a centre of excellence providing high quality paediatric care to the local, regional and national population. It is situated in the city centre and there are excellent transport links across the region.

This role will to provide a variety of customer service and clerical assistance to the medical secretaries and nursing teams within these groups and involve regular interaction with internal and external customers This is an excellent first gateway into the NHS and will give the successful candidates an excellent learning experience and understanding of what goes on in the inner workings of an NHS trust.

In June 2021 Birmingham is set to introduce a Clean Air Zone (CAZ) to reduce harmful emissions, improve air quality in the city and the health of our children and young people. This is not a 'congestion charge' and does not apply to the vast majority of vehicles entering the city centre. Exceptions for NHS staff who earn under £30k and work in the zone are available. From January 2021, as free movement ends there will be a new UK points based immigration system. Under the points-based immigration system, anyone coming to the UK for work must meet a specific set of requirements. Visas are then awarded to those who meet all relevant criteria. The new system will treat EU1 and non-EU citizens equally and transform the way in which all migrants come to the UK to work. Anyone coming to the UK to work, excluding Irish citizens, will need to apply for permission in advance
