Nurse Apprenticeship Placement Development Manager | Home Based | Competitive Salary plus excellent benefits | Permanent

Working as part of the Apprenticeship team, the role of the Placement Officer will be to co-ordinate high quality clinical placements across our Degree Apprenticeship Programme.

You will take the lead in maximising placement capacity in order to support the increasing Apprentice numbers, whilst also identifying new areas for student placements and expanding capacity where possible within existing placement areas.

The role will include working in collaboration with ASIP's (Apprentice Supervisors in Practice) to continuously enhance the learning opportunities and support strategies for Apprentices.

  • The successful candidate will ensure that placement areas meet the standards for practice placements as identified by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and other professional regulatory bodies.
  • You will be working with senior clinical staff, external organisations in the healthcare community and placement staff within Higher Education institutions, to ensure high quality clinical placements which provide learners with the appropriate clinical experiences across the duration of their Apprenticeship programme.
  • The post holder will work in collaboration with the University Placements and Partnerships Leads, Course Leads, ASIPS and other academic staff/ staff involved in learner placements to ensure that non-medical Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors and Learners are developed and supported in a manner that is consistent with NMC and HEE standards and frameworks
  • You will undertake the lead role in auditing and monitoring individual placement areas, ensuring the HEE Multi-Professional Education Quality Standards are met at all times.
  • As the role progresses, you will also develop relationships with additional Higher Education providers to encourage growth.

Who we're looking for
  • Current NMC / HCPC Professional Registration
  • Strong knowledge of pre-registration education and apprenticeships
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting students in placement and mentoring them
  • An understanding of key elements within clinical Degree Apprenticeship standards and a proven ability to translate these into practice
  • Experience of working with Higher Education Institutions and Health Education England
