Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust was formed in October 2019, following the merger of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust. The two Trusts joined together to provide integrated mental health, physical health and learning disability services to communities.

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a committed, organised person to complete an IT apprenticeship working as part of the IT and Clinical Systems support team, providing a high quality service ,which is the first point of contact for all staff within Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will receive Induction and training appropriate to the activities he or she will undertake, and following this induction period will be enrolled to the IT Solutions Technician Level 3 standard with our dedicated training provider.

The Apprentice would be supported to carry out activities including:
  • Ensuring the provision of a high quality Customer focused IT and Clinical Systems support service providing a single point of contact to all staff of GHC staff in relation to all the services provided by the service.
  • To gain accurate information from callers, using effective communication skills to assess the impact of the reported problems or requests.
  • Utilise knowledge, skills and judgment to provide a first line resolution where possible or where unable to assign call to the appropriate team

The apprentice would be expected to be flexible, alter activities and priorities as the need arises,and handle all client requests for assistance in a responsive, professional and customer oriented manner.

Fixed Term contract for18 months

Applicants should note that all appointments to GHCNHSFT are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probation period.(excluding Medical Staffing appointments).

Successful candidates are expected to self-fund either an enhanced or standard or basic DBS check, and sign up to the DBS update service if required for the role.

Please note that if you are successful in your application and you have previously worked for an NHS Trust, GHCNHSFT will request confirmation of your previous NHS service from your last NHS employer via the inter authority transfer system to verify service, pension, sick pay entitlement and pay grade. Your permission will be sought at application and /or later in the process.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered. Any request will be set against genuine operational requirements and limitations and it is not obligatory for a manager to accede to the request.

For positions Band 8a and above there is a requirement to participate in an on-call rota to ensure a high quality of care for patients at all times and continued support to all staff with access to the right knowledge and expertise.
