The Medicine Health Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic senior nurse to join a progressive nursing team within the Health Group to establish a team of Clinical Nurse Educators, complementing the ones already in post.

In line with the Trust strategy we continue to support the employment and training of Associate Nurses, Nurse Apprentices and also the recruitment of further international nurses. Later this year there will then be the new registrants qualifying from the Universities - an exciting time with new staff members joining the team!

This therefore means our focus must change to one of supporting, nurturing and developing our staff with the aim of retaining them in their posts. The Medicine Health Group recognises that this position must be maintained and in order to achieve this, support and development must be available to demonstrate that the workforce is valued and supported to deliver the best possible care.

As a result, the Health Group is establishing a team of Clinical Nurse Educators in order to ensure that nurses are supported, nurtured and are able to provide safe and effective care within their chosen job roles. The model of a band 7 lead and further band 6 posts will enhance this team to be able to deliver their functions across the Medicine Health Group.

The entire team will play a key role in educating new graduates. This recognises that due to significant recruitment success, a higher proportion of our workforce than in previous years will be newly qualified and inexperienced. The nurse educator team will be a vital resource to help these staff gain skills and knowledge as quickly as possible so that they can gain the confidence needed to fulfil their chosen roles.

The Medicine Health Group is striving to create an environment that offers rewarding and supported nursing roles that staff will want to remain in. In order to retain valuable and knowledgeable nursing staff with the skills and knowledge to work in their relevant specialty, we must support, educate and invest in them. This will contribute overall to their job satisfaction, self-worth and well-being so encouraging them to remain in their chosen specialty.

You will be proactive, have excellent leadership and communication skills and knowledge of medical pathways. Dynamic and innovative individuals are sought in order to establish this team and provide excellent support and education to the nursing teams throughout the Health Group. You will be expected to reflect the Trust's vision and values, contributing to the Health Group and corporate Trust agendas.

You will have extensive experience as a Registered Nurse, a willingness to develop your scope of practice and have sound knowledge of nursing, leadership and management.
