Greenwich Community Learning Disability Team

37.5 hours per week (1.0 WTE)

Apprenticeships are designed to give talented people an opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification while completing on the job training with our highly skilled clinicians.

We are seeking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy apprentice to work within our community learning disability team in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. You will be part of a progressive and supportive team environment located in South East London. Our learning disability Service delivers care to a diverse population within a variety of clinical settings, and within service user's homes.

To qualify for the apprenticeship program the successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
  • Over 18 years old
  • Resident in the UK / EU for the past 3 years
  • Should have GCSEs level 2 /Grade C in Maths and English
  • Successfully completed study at Level 3 including a science ( Most universities does not accept City and Guilds nor NVQ as Level 3 qualifications)

This is a developmental role over four years. You will work towards successful completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy and recognition by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Allied Health Professional (AHP) Occupational Therapist. You will develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role of an Occupational Therapist through your apprenticeship within the service as well as through completion of the Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship training programme.

The Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship Programme combines and integrates academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers. You can expect to spend 80% of your time learning on the job and 20% of your time learning off the job
