Apprentice Technical Assistant.
Synoptix are a specialist system engineering consultancy. We provide bespoke Engineering solutions to companies in a variety of industries, including Aerospace and Defence, in boththe Public and Private sectors.
We have a number of partnership schemes with leading UK Universities, and promote the development of innovative technologies by bridging the gap between early research and development projects pioneered by individual Engineering subject matter experts and major Blue-Chip Engineering companies.
Synoptix Engineers are either Chartered with an institute or working towards Chartership. Part of the requirement for this is demonstrating Continued Professional Development.
We are seeking an engineering apprentice to join our Level 6 programme. This comprises four years of funded academic study and workplace training, which results in a BSc (hons) Digital and Technology Solutions Degree.
In addition to the academic requirements, we are looking for someone who will become a valuable member of our project delivery team.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
The successful candidate will be exposed to all areas of Synoptix business. We are looking for driven, independent candidates who will expect to have an early impact on our business.
You will need to develop a resilient character with an ability to be diplomatic but also be able to deliver robust coherent arguments. There will be opportunities to present to customers in chosen areas of expertise.
Synoptix offers a training programme that will provide the apprentice with the skills required to represent Synoptix professionally and diligently at all times and also be proactive. This will include developing new skills and understanding how to maximise business opportunities through the application of Systems Engineering excellence and best practice.
This is an exciting and challenging role for an individual who wishes to develop their engineering skills and progress their career.

Apprentices will ideally already have three A Levels at grade C or above, preferably in related subjects such as mathematics, science and IT, or a BTEC Extended Diploma at MMM, or other qualifications equivalent to 96 UCAS tariff points, in addition to Level 2 English and mathematics.
Due to the funded nature of this programme, applicants with undergraduate degrees in computing/IT/Electronics Engineering will not be eligible.

The successful candidate will interact with customer stakeholders from time to time, including attending Engineering review meetings which may be held at various UK locations.

- Cyber security
- Maintenance of Synoptix databases
- Configuration management
- Supporting contributions to Synoptix Website and other professional media outlets
- Learning to use modelling and analysis tools
- Supporting the creation of statements of work for clients
- Assisting with responses to invitations to tender
- Identifying required resource to deliver work packages
- project co-ordination in support of work package delivery
