About the apprenticeship

Duties

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic Care assistant apprentice. You will assist and provide quality care to patients depending on their specific healthcare needs. The care assistant will work with a team of medical personnel to diagnose and assist patients with their needs and any other tasks as required to give patients the highest quality care possible.
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate a passion for helping others, dedication to providing quality healthcare to clients, and have excellent organisational and communication skills. Proven experience in health and social care fields would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide medical services or perform tasks or duties depending on patient needs
• Prescribe medication required by patients
• Determine whether a patient needs to consult with other specialists as part of their health care plan
• Attend ongoing training courses to continually advance knowledge
• Act in a professional manner at all times
• Comply with the rules and regulations set by both the company and the industry to provide safe health care services
Personal Specification:
• Prior professional care experience would be preferred
• A caring, compassionate nature
• Strong communication skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage a busy workload under pressure
• Willingness to work irregular hours, and over weekends and holidays
Occasional travel may be required

The successful applicant must have a desire to work with members of the public and have a caring, patient and understanding nature. You will need to work as part of a team and be flexible within your approach and working hours. You will need to be good at communicating and be willing to liaise with residents and family members and other members of the public on a daily basis.
