Adult Community Services

37.50 hours a week - full time 1.00 wte



We require enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapists to manage a caseload for a range of clients with acquired disorders within community and hospital settings. This post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop and consolidate skills and knowledge across a broad range of client groups with acquired disorders of speech, language and voice.

The post-holder will operate as part of the Speech and Language Therapy Adult team working for Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust based at Bentilee Neighbourhood Centre, Stoke on Trent, supported by an excellent team of clerical and assistant staff. The scope and range of the work is varied and interesting, enabling the therapist to work independently whilst being well supported within the wider Speech and Language Therapy team.

The Speech and Language Therapy Team for adults is a close working team with both formal support, access to quality appraisals and development structures alongside informal peer support. The Speech and Language Therapy Service offers comprehensive supervision, alongside a range of opportunities for learning and participation in both self and service development. As this post is suitable for newly qualified speech and language therapists, enhanced support will be provided for the completion of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists competencies.

There are regular team meetings and continuing professional development is actively encouraged through a variety of training opportunities.

Stoke-on-Trent is a vibrant area undergoing major redevelopment with an expanding city centre and housing market. It offers excellent transport links to scenic countryside and neighbouring cities, places of historic interest, a lively cultural scene, and links with local universities
