Based at our Daventry Plant you will learn how Engineers & Technicians support the manufacture of High Horsepower engines that are used in a number of different applications.

Join us for three years as an apprentice, and you'll have the opportunity to make your mark in engineering pathways such as:
  • Maintenance: trained in either Electrical or Mechanical maintenance and they ensure that the facilities and machines are functioning correctly and efficiently to ensure production demands are met
  • Manufacturing Support:where you will support the day to day production by fixing repetitive issues and use improvement techniques to increase the effectiveness of manufacturing process to ensure the products conform to Cummins strict specifications

You will be rotating around various departments to gain well rounded knowledge of the manufacturing processes.

In your last year, you will complete a final year placement within one department.

Desired qualifications

  • Minimumof 5 GCSEs at grade 9-5 (A*-C+)including English, maths and a Science, Technology or Engineering relatedsubject; or equivalent qualifications
  • Maths GCSE Grade B (6) or above is preferred but candidates with a Grade C+ (5) in maths are encouraged to apply and will be considered on an individual basis
  • 2 x A Levels including mathematics and either a Science or Engineering related subject;or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC at Level 3; or a Level 3 Apprenticeship in an Engineering subject; or equivalent qualifications


Future prospects

You will possibly have the opportunity to be supported through Higher Education to obtain a HND or Degree.
