About the role...

HEE Thames Valley are seeking applications to the role of Business Support Assistant Apprentice.

You will be the face of HEE Thames Valley, you will greet visitors when they first come into the building and be the first point of contact when they make any sort of contact with the office, which could be on the phone or via email. You will be responsible for monitoring and responding to emails which come into the generic email inbox.

You will manage the bookings, and the day to day running of the newly created Events Centre in Chancellor Court. The Events Centre has state of the art conferencing technology in each of the meeting rooms and you will be responsible for maintaining this system and providing training on how to use it. You will ensure that the rooms are ready each morning for that day's events, ensuring that the room layout and IT set up is in accordance with the event organiser's wishes.

You will help the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education Team with their busy national recruitment schedule which will involve assisting multiple interview panels to ensure the smooth running of the day. You will also be expected to help with candidate registration at these events. This is a great way to build up your communication and organisational skills.

There may be opportunities for you to get involved in project work with the various departments that make up HEE.

You will be expected to undertake a range of administrative tasks to support the wider HEE Thames Valley team.

Due to the current lockdown restrictions, the majority of HEE staff are working from home however Chancellor Court remains open. Whilst some flexibility can be offered due to the current remote working arrangements, please note that this is an office-based role and the postholder will be expected to be based in Chancellor Court for the majority of the time'

Training provided:

As this is an apprentice post, the job holder will be required to develop skills, knowledge and experience in all aspects of business administration This will be mainly through on the job training, alongside more formal supervisor/tutor and training sessions. You and your development will be supported by the other members of the team.

This apprentice role is suitable for those that have already achieved a Level 2 qualification or equivalent, E.G. NVQ 2 and would like to further develop their skills and career in business administration.

The apprenticeship is a fixed term agreement lasting 18 - 21months in duration, working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration through Paragon Skills.

This post will give the successful applicant an opportunity to learn the skills associated with business administration, whilst studying for a nationally recognised qualification which may be a gateway to further career opportunities.

To be eligible to apply you must be at least 16 years of age and not in full-time education (when commencing in post). Applicants should have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years and cannot already hold a Business Administration qualification at level 3 or above or any qualifications higher than a level 4.
