This unique role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced GP who is passionate about primary care to join our team as the Lead GP for the North East Prison cluster. This will be a substantive full-time post with NHS benefits including NHS pension and time served enhancements comprising both operational and clinical working.

As Regional Lead GP, you will be a key stakeholder responsible for ensuring delivery of a collaborative & integrative health care model alongside Heads of Healthcare, operational and nursing leads to a diverse population of socially excluded men and women often with multiple and complex health and social needs.

It is not essential to have previous experience working within secure environments, as full induction and training will be provided.

Line managed and supported by Spectrum's Associate Medical Director, you will have access to continuing professional development in support of appraisal and revalidation through our GP forum. As a senior leader you will have access to a full induction and a range of ongoing professional support, coaching and development opportunities including Spectrum's own ILM accredited leadership and management programme. In addition, there is access to specialist research and educational supervision opportunities through our Research Directorate and Medical Education teams.

The post holder will be expected to undertake safeguarding training (Children and Adults) appropriate to their role and adhere to policies and procedures relevant to the area they work in.
