Highways England are looking to recruit Project Controls Apprentices on a 2-year fixed term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge skills and competence in the workplace with the benefit of support from your learning provider, experienced colleagues, and the wider business.
As a Project Controls apprentice, you will be responsible for understanding what needs to be achieved by our projects, recording and tracking progress, maintaining effective governance and controls over budgets, risk management, schedules and planned outcomes across a number of major projects.
The 2-year programme will be within the Major Projects directorate where you'll help maintain an overview across a GBP14.2bn portfolio of improvement projects within Highways England whilst working towards gaining a Level 3 qualification in Project Controls and the opportunity to specialise within your 2nd year.
This role is to start in September 2021
- You must hold (or be predicted) a minimum of five GCSEs (including English and Maths, at grade C/grade 4 or above)
- You'll evidence the ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
- You'll evidence the ability to work to timescales, prioritising where necessary
- You'll evidence the ability to give and receive information effectively
- You'll evidence the ability to write clearly and concisely
- You'll evidence you desire and passion to pursue a career within Highways England
Making sure our customers have safe and reliable journeys is at the heart of everything we do in Operations. We achieve this through the delivery our capital programme, supporting customers on the road with our Traffic Officer Service and managing incidents effectively.
