  • Research background information from various sources for Senior Policy Advisors (as required) for dealing with more complex and/or comprehensive issues, within agreed timescales relating to priority policy programmes
  • Support Senior Policy Advisors in responding to urgent requests on policy matters, both from internal sources (the Director of Public Prosecutions, Chief Executive, and Director of Strategy and Policy), and policy leads in other Government departments. This work is often required to very short deadlines
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, building lasting relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Write for different audiences including for use by senior leaders or in response to correspondence from MPs or members of the public. Some correspondence will be direct and some will be via your manager
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with other teams/Directorates and external stakeholders, including Criminal Justice System partners, to ensure the smooth operation of CPS business

Desired qualifications

  • 5 x GCSEs including English Language and maths (or equivalent) at grade C and above (or the new grade 4 and above)

Level 3 qualification(s), including at least one of the below:
  • 2 x A-levels at grade D and above; or
  • BTEC Extended Diploma at grade PPP and above; or
  • Level 3 apprenticeship; or
  • Equivalent level 3 qualifications of at least 48 UCAS points
