What will the apprentice be doing?
As an apprentice you would be involved in;
Part Feasibility, Pattern development status, Digitising status, Pattern release status, Master and limit part status, Process definition and capture, Training status of manufacturing team, Status current Tact and process times vs Target.
• Improve trimming and patterning skills and knowledge of trimming processes
• Develop patterns and process to enable parts to be trimmed to the defined cost, quality, and Tact time targets.
Any other projects.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
At the end of this apprentoceship you will have received a Level 6 in Product Design and Development Engineer.
Skills to learn within IAC:
•Sewing, Patterning, Gerber digitising, trimming, cutting, Spraying, lamination, splitting and skiving of leather, materials, adhesive knowledge, Trim related software and 3D printing.
The provider of this qualification is Birmingham Metropolitan College and this will be done on a day release basis.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
After this qualification you can progresss to managing your own trim devlopment projects across the UK and Europe.
Ulitimatly we are looking for a succession for the UK Trim Development Manager.

Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent Mathematics , English and Science (Grade 4 and above) Essential
A Level or equivalent Mathematical and science based subjects (Grade 4 above) Essential
BTEC or equivalent Engineering (Grade 90+ credits) Essential
Things to consider
The automotive industry is very fast moving so be prepared for projects to move quickly. We are based on an industrial estate next to Birmingham Airport so please think about how you would travel to work and your day release to Birmingham Met College.
