Consultant in Public Health / Public Health Medicine
Based at Glanrhyd Hospital (home working can be accommodated)
This post has been created to support the CTMUHB response to Covid specfically
Medical consultant scale (point commensurate with previous experience). Agenda for Change Band 9 for non-medical staff
Applications are invited for a Consultant in Public Health to join the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Public Health Team. The Team forms part of Public Health Wales working under the leadership of the Executive Director of Public Health. Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board covers the three counties of Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf.
The Consultant in Public Health will be expected to deliver a major role working with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and other partners, ensuring public health influences delivery at a local level.
Further areas of work will be negotiated according to the needs of the department and Public Health Wales and the skills and knowledge of the successful candidate on appointment.
A detailed work plan will be drawn up with the Deputy Director of Public Health, in consultation with Public Health Wales, upon appointment, drawing on the key tasks outlined in this Job Description.
The post holder will be managerially accountable to the Deputy Director of Public Health for the University Health Board.
Applicants must be on the GMC/GDC Specialist Register/UK Public Health Register for Public Health Specialists.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
