You will provide support to the Curriculum Director and coaches in developing the tools and applications for the VLE and Microsoft Office365 collaboration environment. Our ambition is to develop tools that will enable the Digital Native community of coaches to scale and grow.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Speaking with users to understand their needs
  • Evaluating and capturing these needs as User stories
  • Creating prototypes and mock-ups to enhance understanding
  • Designing solutions and testing requirements
  • Developing solutions in a variety of technologies
  • Collaborating with users to help them understand how to use the solutions
  • Providing ongoing engagement to ensure the users are fully using what you have developed
  • Communicating you plan to stakeholders

Personal qualities

You should have a desire to help others by providing solutions that are sensitive to the needs of our coaches and apprentices. This will require you to collaborate as part of a team but be able to work on your own when needed. More importantly, as technology is as much about understanding people as it is crafting solutions, you should be able to communicate proficiently both written and orally and able to develop close working relationships with the Digital Native team of coaches while flexibly managing your time to meet the needs of the business.

Desired qualifications

You'll need to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A - C (9 - 4 or equivalents)including English Language and Maths with a demonstratable interest in software development.

Future prospects

Digital Native have progression routes that can include a degree apprenticeship or further professional qualifications.
