The core quantity surveyor's responsibilities are primarily cost and quality control. They include:
  • Discussing plans with a client and advising whether their proposals will work
  • Calculating quantities and costs of materials
  • Calculating time and labour before the project goes to tender
  • Preparing cash-flow projections
  • Overseeing subcontractors and stages of construction
  • Cost control during construction
  • Negotiating contracts
  • Advising on legal points, including disputes
  • Writing reports and overseeing bills
  • Minimising risk and complying with health and safety rules
  • Keeping up to date with construction methods and materials

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be a permanent position.

  • Must live in theBexley Borough
  • 1st year apprentice however there is a rising payscale for apprenticeships
  • All Travel Paid and PPE provided
  • Four weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays
