To develop, configure, implement, and maintain a wide range of business applications and web interfaces for the Authority and their users, to enable front line and support services to operate effectively. As an ICT Development apprentice, this role will focus on more straightforward development work alongside routine maintenance activities and will operate with greater guidance and support from others. Part of this role will be the undertaking of an 'Software Development Technician' apprenticeship. At least 20% of the working week will be dedicated to achieving this.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and develop straightforward interfaces for new applications, under the guidance of senior colleagues, to ensure a seamless experience for users
  • Undertake application software testing to ensure that new or updated applications are functional and fit for purpose
  • Monitor, identify and correct application issues to maintain fully functioning applications
  • Provide routine maintenance upgrades and day-to-day support to ensure continued integrity of applications
  • Implement agreed changes to a wide range of business applications to support service improvement
  • Maintain documentation to an agreed standard so that information is accessible
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical colleagues to generate understanding and buy-in around solutions

Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 and above or equivalent, which must include English and maths
  • Some knowledge of key industry standard technology platforms and applications, such as Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics, SharePoint, SQL, ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, and PowerShell scripts desirable
