ENHCCG has 13 PCNs incorporating 53 GP practices and is a component of the Hertfordshire & West Essex Integrated Care System (ICS).

Our forward thinking, financially robust and clinically-led organisation is based in the centre of Welwyn Garden City, a 1920s 'garden city' in the heart of Hertfordshire. Welwyn Garden City is 25 minutes from central London by train and easily accessed from the A1 and other major road networks.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us to provide dedicated pharmaceutical expertise to healthcare professionals in Primary Care. If you are an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual and would like to lead on the drive to improve medicines optimisation, come and join our well established, highly-respected ENHCCG Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Team (PMOT).

As part of a small team you will spend most of your time working to support Primary Care settings providing medicines optimisation support to GP practices with the aim of improving patient outcomes and maximising the safety, quality and cost-effectiveness of prescribing across our population. You may also be part of the CCG team who provides a clinical pharmacy service to patients in an Intermediate Care setting, providing pharmaceutical advice to Care Home staff and patients.

To apply for this position, you must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in Great Britain as a practicing pharmacist, have a sound understanding of medicines optimisation and evidence based medicine and a proven ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with all levels of staff in order to achieve objectives. If you have good computer literacy, organisational and team working skills and enjoy working independently this may be the development opportunity for you.

The post holder will need to able to travel between sites supporting Primary Care staff and attending meetings.

Personal and professional development is supported for all members of the CCG PMOT.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum and maximum payment per annum (pro rata where applicable) in line with Agenda for Change.
